It's like the experts are releasing new listings on common marriage issues on an annual basis. Even though there plenty of lists that outline the 10 top issues, a review of the four top ones should suffice. Each one should be pretty obvious when you've had a chance to read through them. It should also be plain why these four issues deserve their places in the top four.

Of course, money takes first place; it always does. Most married couples will fight over finances and money before anything. Often the issue is all about control but it may take the form of separate bank accounts. Basically, when one wants a separate account, the other is against it for various reasons. Experts are quick to point out that arguments diminish when both parties have easy access to their own funds. Where this breaks down, at times, is when you decide to make large purchases without consulting your spouse. You would be wise to have all major purchases approved by both parties. Another factor that affects marriage issues about money involves lack of communication about them. Poor financial accountability is also a culprit in serious debt problems.

The fact that sex ranks as number two on the list of marriage issues probably hasn't surprised most of you. The top reason this was a problem was because of a lack of sex. Some reports mention that both men and women spoke up in with this reason, but, of course, men were the higher number. Even so, the point was made that both want more sex on a regular basis. Another cause of sexual tension in the marriage was the use of pornography by men in the marriage relationship. With a significant lead, men were listed as visiting gentlemen's clubs and pornographic pages online on a regular basis. Of course, the issue was exacerbated when unsuspecting women learned what their husbands were doing.

The third spot on the top four marriage issues was in-laws. There are instances where either one or both spouses have disruptive in-laws that harm the marriage. Bad behavior by in-laws has been known to completely destroy marriages. It seems women and men are equally guilty of this. The root of the issue involves one or both of the spouses' family members getting too involved in personal affairs. This comes down to plain old nosiness. Ideally, the offending family member should be told to back off the situation, but they often are not. The arguments and the conflict get worse because one spouse won't stick up for the other.

On the top four list of common marriage issues, adultery makes it to fourth place. With higher statistics reported, this means that more people are choosing to commit adultery. Men rank much higher on this dubious list. Yet, women really are not that far behind. The fourth issue is often a direct result of the sex issue mentioned earlier. For men it is a lack of sexual intimacy. For women, however, it is more based on lack of emotional care. Both sexes wind up searching for fulfillment outside the marriage and get caught in the process.
