After you have mastered the single player mode of Call of Duty: World at War, it's time to take your skills online. You'll find thousands of gamers gunning for multi-player glory online right now. Here are some tips that will help you sharpen your skills as well as information on downloadable map packs that will be of value to any player.

At least two additional map packs have been released to date offering six new maps; these tips and strategies will help you master these maps.
Map pack: 1 , Size: Medium, Vehicles: No (The Station): running through the middle of the destroyed station is a sure way to get killed. Far better to work your way around the sides of the map, but be careful as there are many places for the enemy to hide/attack from. Using good teamwork will come in handy here. Use the raised platforms at each end of the station to pick off enemy targets with your sniper rifle. You will find a raised portion at the center of the map where the road has collapsed; this is a close combat zone so use your machine guns here and you can go inside the train carriages, hide behind the seat to surprise the enemy.
Map pack:1 Size:Large, Vehicles: No (Knee Deep): This is a large open-plain style map so it's best to use the Light Gunner class because of its mobility and effectiveness.

The main building on the left side of the map has a ladder; use it to climb to the top of the house and use your rifle from that vantage point to catch the enemy. Use the river that runs through the center of the map to effectively disguise movements. At the far north end of the map, where the river ends, you'll find a good view downstream. Find the bridge on the West side that crosses the river, slip unnoticed under this bridge to catch enemy combatants running upstream.
Map pack:1, Size:Large, Vehicles:no (Nightfire) This large map was created for all classes, so choose the class that fits your gaming style, you won't go wrong with this map. There are lots of buildings in this map so take advantage; sitting and waiting for enemies is a good way to rack up skills with this map.

If you like this style of combat or need the practice, the northern building is a great place to hide for close-quarters combat opportunities (use Machine gun). When inside the north building, go past the main entrance and turn left, then head past the van then immediately turn left and jump above to the next story, then cross the pipes in front of the spotlight then you'll be able to enter another building with some great sniping positions.
