You should think about using a bamboo fountain to energize your garden. These unique types of fountains were originally developed in Japan where they were used to chase deer away from the fields of rice paddies. It isn't difficult to understand that they were called "deer chasers".

In the past, monks would use the bamboo fountain as a method for timing their mediations. In a time when more people are concerned about their affect on the environment, the bamboo fountain is an ecologically friendly material option. This fact does not detract from the fountain's clear aesthetic charm. The bamboo fountain is a flexible model so you can use them both indoors and outdoors.

If you want to build your own bamboo fountain, all you need are few simple components. The parts for the fountains include bamboo, pipe, pump, base, screws, rod, and a container. If you are constructing an outdoor bamboo fountain, it is wise to use a quality bamboo that will not crack under variable weather conditions. Apart from practical considerations, if you intend the bamboo fountain for inside use, you might consider polishing the material to make it more appealing and longer lasting. Before you start constructing your bamboo fountain, you should also have the right tools including a screwdriver, a drill, and a wood saw.

Once you're ready to build, you should start by cutting the bamboo sticks to the right length. You should have three big bamboo sticks. A stick will hold the nozzle while two other will hold the moving piece on the bamboo fountain. The part that moves is responsible for collecting water and emptying it once the volume of the collected water rises. Use a drill to put holes in the center of the bamboo sticks and the moving part. You need holes in your bamboo sticks pieces because a rod will be inserted in them to make the fountain operate with pivot action.

The pipe will be ran through the middle of the bamboo stick to the pump. The very top of this pipe is tipped with a bamboo nozzle. Everything should then be secured onto a base. The bamboo fountain is in working order when it continues cycling water through the moving part, out of the spout and back in again.

Should you rather skip the building process for your bamboo fountain, you can always buy a speciality kit at a home design store that carries fountains.

If you do get a bamboo fountain, you might like to know how to maintain one. Maintenance focuses on two areas. The first area is water pump care. The pump must be kept underwater when in operation. Don't forget to clean the pump regularly. You must replace the water in your fountain on a regular schedule. If your bamboo fountain is on all the time, you won't have to change it as often but it is still good to keep on a schedule to avoid smell, stagnant water.
