Blood Sport -- Credit Score version of UFC?

The thing that makes this country great is the middle class. But the middle class is under attack right now on all flanks -- we're getting hit with massive increases in the cost of healthcare (regardless of who pays), tax increases, job-layoffs (CEOs need to cut costs to have enough money left over for their gazillion dollar bonuses), divorces (in part caused by financial stress) you name it. The consequence is that Americans' credit scores are plunging -- and that means two things. First, as you can read about if you sign up on http://www.improvecreditASAP.com (it's free), the people who profit the MOST when your credit score falls are -- yes, you guessed it -- the banks! Banks and lenders then increase their interest rates and make even bigger profits. That's why credit card companies put fine print at the bottom of their marketing brochures that when you pay late, even once, they have the right to jack you up with 29.99% interest rates (and that's down from the high 30s thanks for a bill passed by Congress recently). The second unfortunate consequence, is that many Americans are getting hurt because they can no longer access good credit (hard money loans at usurious rates doesn't qualify in my bood as "good credit"). And that means that if you get laid off or anything happens and you need a little bridge loan to help you get through a rough patch, you're out of luck. And as a consequence, many many Americans are hurt. But the CEOs of the banks and also most of Washington D.C. for that matter don't care -- they make plenty of money to take care of their needs either way.

Oh, and those so-called Rescue Packages passed by Congress? They help the big boys -- the banks and big insurance companies -- but they unfortunately don't do much for the little guy -- the regular consumer. So it is super important, that if you're facing an economic setback, that you get some advice from a REAL consumer advocate who can share with you the WHOLE truth, not just three quarters of the truth -- and give you facts, so that you can make informed decisions. Because the fact is that there are some things you can do to protect yourself from abusive creditors. There are some things you need to do differently to protect your credit in times like this. And there are some things you can and may need to do to make sure you survive this year, even if that means playing hardball (but within the law) with creditors and debt collectors. It also means that you need to actively research your credit report and make sure that it does not include any incorrect information on it that could be unfairly hurting your credit score.

Because if it does, you can get them to remove it, or you can hire someone like First Stone Credit Counseling at http://www.ImproveCreditASAP.com to do this for you. I mention these guys because after hundreds of hours of research, I finally found them. They are located in Dallas but serve the entire country, since they are federally chartered. In any event, I almost gave up before I found them because it turns out that most of the so-called "credit repair" type businesses or "debt settlement" type firms are all just debt-collectors dressed up in sheep's clothing to look like they are your friend. And like I said, I almost gave up. But by the time I found this group, I already knew quite a bit and it was a huge breath of fresh air. Their team is also pretty unique because they still spend time getting to know you and your specific situation.

A lot of their most internet savy competitors have reduced you down to a formula -- they like to have you fill out forms and that's it...but you know, not all of life's situations neatly fit into a box. So I appreciated their good old fashioned customer service attitude and that's one reason I'm writing. I finally got the help I needed and I also put in the sweat to learn about this myself so that I could protect myself and my loved ones too. And because I now see so many people hurting, I felt compelled to write a few articles to get the word out that there IS something you can do. So get busy -- not that you have any spare time or anything, but there is no free lunch and you gotta take the first step of calling, or reading more online. But do it, because you'll be glad you did. And if you don't, you'll end up an indentured servant the rest of your life, because without credit, life gets complicated. In fact, in today's modern world, I'd say that credit is about as useful to most of us as oxygen. Very very very few people have the luxury of always using cash. Maybe one day, right? Hey, thanks for taking the time to read this article and I wish you the best of luck in navigating these difficult times.
