Bay area jobs in California are passing through a phase of turbulence. A lot of such jobs are passing hands. Earlier it was the “region”. Today it’s “overseas” which is calling the shots. In fact the trend which has come out in a big way today had shown few ripples a decade ago. More and more firms began looking for overseas contracts as the cost of operation in an overseas market was far lower. This included the entire logistic right from production to high-end point of the chain.

Bay area jobs have suffered a great deal as the world around is getting pleasantly intricate each passing day. Earlier it was the US and only the US in a very big way. Today, engineering, designing, robotization, customization processes, programming and integration are all being handled at lesser costs out of the US. This is why multinationals are outsourcing contracts out of the Bay Area. It is only natural then that the bay area jobs will suffer and it is suffering for sure.

Bay area jobs have actually faced the sword from both sides. Economy has over all weakened and recession has loomed large on the scene. At the same time, the lure of outsourcing has simply funneled the jobs out of the area hitting the domestic job base very hard.

Barring healthcare, bay area jobs have suffered highest downsizing after the winter of 1974. And those were really dark times. The western world had fallen into a tizzy. While the rate of unemployment was a shade under 5 percent an years ago, it has grown to unprecedented levels of 6.7 percent in the country. Bay area jobs have not fared any better. In fact, they have suffered far worse impact than the average. California shows a statistical 8.2 percent downsizing.

Bay area jobs in California have come under the media radar as it was one of the more prosperous areas in the globe. For a lot of time, it had a self-sustained economy which did not need to purse government grants. Today, the jobs are flowing out for sure but experts believe that these are disturbing trends for a different reason. Without checking the demographical balance, no job change process can be ideally completed.

For instance, a company dealing in wood knows the exact type of wood it deals in for generations. Now that particular variety is only available at that particular demographical point. Moreover, the laborers and craftsmen enjoy thorough knowledge of it. No matter how cheap outsourcing gets and how much customization is added. Product quality is bound to come down once the company does off shoring.

Congress is expected to bring out mandates that bring some revolution to the bay area job scene.

The situation is bleak but there are still few jobs that are worth finding. Bay area jobs can be found over online sites or through consultancy firms (head hunters). For this, an aspiring employee needs to post his resume on some online job bank and find the job that suits his credentials most.
