The cargo bed at the back of the bakkie is useful for small boxes, bicycles, and anything else that needs to be transported which is of reasonable size.

Increasingly more urban dwellers are catching onto the bakkie trend, purchasing them for numerous uses including holidaying, small enterprises and delivery services. Many people prefer the elevated feeling and belief of increased driver safety when driving in a bakkie. It's certainly true that a large, heavier vehicle will fare better in a collision, and this is why many mothers are purchasing bakkies and SUVs for the transportation of the most precious cargo of all – their children. Children also come with a lot of luggage from school; bags, sports equipment and so on and therefore require extra luggage space. Bakkies are great for families that regularly go camping, hiking and holidaying. Because of the power of these vehicles, they are able to pull heavy loads such as boats, trailers holding quad and motor bikes, and various other heavy things. Bakkies are able to drive on difficult terrain, such as sand and rocks, making them enjoyable for off road destination use.

In conclusion, it is easy to see that there is a big difference between motor cars and bakkies. Bakkies have far more uses than a normal motor vehicle, and depending on your family's needs, you should be able to find the right bakkie that will keep you happy for a long time.
