This may be the reason why Baguio is also known as the Educational Capital of the North in the Philippines.

There are a lot of universities in the city which offer a number of different degrees. One of the well-known universities is the Saint Louis University. This university was established in 1911 and has always since been known to offer quality education and high standards. Students from all over Northern Luzon usually attend this university because of the good reputation that it has established. Its college of nursing has been awarded the title of center of excellence for a number of years now.

The University of the Philippines Baguio is also known for its high standards. This university has definitely uplifted the name of UP and has since excelled in Cordillera studies. Students from all over the Philippines may be found in UP Baguio. The University of the Cordilleras, formerly known the Baguio Colleges Foundation is also one of the best universities to be found in Baguio. It offers various courses from the different disciplines. UC has had its pride upheld over the years by having Bar top notchers twice. This university is also the center of excellence for criminology and information technology. The University of Baguio is one of the universities with the largest population and is the only university in Baguio which offers dentistry and the other allied medical courses.

There are more universities in Baguio to choose from including the Easter College, Pines City Colleges the Philippine Women?s University and National University. All these give students the quality education that they need. It is no doubt that Baguio offers students a wide range of learning and knowledge through these reputable universities. This may be the reason why one-third of the whole city?s population is students. Indeed Baguio?s ambiance has catered to the students educational and physiological needs. Baguio truly caters to people from all walks of life.
