Back pains can be a sudden experience, or last for long periods which are often referred to as chronic back pains. Furthermore, the pain may be felt in one area and stay there for a certain amount of time, or may spread to the whole back including the arms and hands. It generally gives a sharp and burning sensation - simulating a thousand needles piercing your body.

Anatomically, back pains are classified as neck pain or lower and upper back pains. One of body parts frequently affected is the spine, which is a complicated connection of nerves, tendons, ligaments, and muscles - all extremely capable of producing and experiencing pain. In addition, large nerves that are interconnected with the spine leading to the legs and arms are mostly responsible for bringing pain in almost all body parts.

Serious Medical Condition to be Aware Of
Although not prevalent, back pain can be a foretelling sign of a much serious medical problem. Among the condition to keep close attention to are:
· Back pain that consistently occurs after suffering an injury or trauma, which may be a result of bone fracture

· Extremely painful and severe back pains to the point that normal sleeping patterns are interrupted, especially when coupled by high fever and dramatic weight loss

· Individual who have history with disorders related to back pains such as osteoporosis and several forms of cancer affecting the spine

Explaining the Causes
There are multiple and various causes of both sudden and chronic back pains. One common cause is from the back skeletal muscles acquiring some form of injury like muscle strains and spasms. On the other hand, lower back pains are often linked to the spine’s synovial joints. Studies show that these joints are the main pain source for people suffering from consistent and chronic lower back pains.
Other known sources affecting back pains include infection, inflammatory diseases, joint and bone disease, and physical factors such as traumas, injuries, and fractures.

Time to See Your Doctor
If your back pains do not improve and seem to become more painful by the minute, it is highly suggested to consult an expert doctor. Most people will try home remedies for about three to four days but if no progress is achieved, especially when abnormal bowel movement develops or high fever and leg weakness occurs; it is time to seek for professional treatment. These dangerous symptoms, as well as the ones listed below, may be directly linked to your back pains and lead to irreversible damages if left improperly diagnosed and treated.
See a doctor specializing in back pains when one or combination of these symptoms is experienced:

· Loose bowel movement
· Groin and anal numbness
· High fever, appetite loss, over all weakness
· Limited movement and extreme pain causing decreased sleep hours
Exercise Away your Back Pain
Weak muscles are often the culprit in back pain problems. Strengthening the muscles supporting the spine, which are muscles of the back, abdomen and buttocks, can gradually cure existing back problems or even prevent one from happening.

For stronger Abs muscles, abdominal sit ups will be extremely useful in developing sturdy muscles to support the lower back. To get firmer and stronger buttocks and leg muscles that maintain proper alignment of the spine, you must do leg lifts and butt exercises. And for stronger back muscles, you must do back stretching exercises regularly to promote joint mobility of your spine.
