The manager has to take care of the manpower as well. Employees who are regular absentees or irregular in their work can only add to the woes of the company. It hampers the work atmosphere and discourages other dedicated workers from giving their best. Moreover, the productivity as opposed to time and resources gets hampered. The manager must make sure such employees reined in firmly. He has to ensure work flows smoothly and there is no disruption.

Not just the employees of the BPO firm, the technicians have to be supervised well, too. They have to be on their feet all the times. Any technical snag has to be fixed as soon as possible. Time is a very important factor in the running of a BPO services firm. It’s no secret that any wastage of quality work time due to technical faults will hamper the project deadline and also interactions with the clients on a real time basis. Missed deadlines are dark spots on the credibility on the company. And it all can be avoided by a serious and careful BPO manager.

There are other areas where he can make a big difference. Sometimes BPO services employees are not accurately assertive with their customers. This may make the sales leads suffer. Sometimes the agents are not confident enough to go ahead with their sales pitches. Sometimes customers are aggressive, stopping short any sales effort and messing up the confidence level of the BPO agent. That is when the manager can step in and solve things. He can encourage the employees to go ahead and understand that failures and setbacks are part and parcel of any business and services. It’s all a part of the game. These words of encouragement will do wonders for the motivation of the employee and the entire team.
