I hope that as you read this, you have not yet fallen for one of the online scams or mistakes Internet marketers often make! Most scams target beginners who are finding ways to make huge sums of money by tomorrow.

Does the offer promise things that sound too good to be true? If the offer promises you to make hundreds and thousands of dollars per day for a couple of hours of work, well your personal alarms should tell you, it is too good to be true. There are no shortcuts to the basics. If they offer you such, you should know that they are just too good to be true.

Data Entry and Type at Home - These are the really big ones! Why can't I get people to pay me $49.99 as easy as these sites do? Well, because, I do not play on the "get rich quick" emotions. If you think someone will pay you good money just to fill out forms, I would like to sell you my house overlooking the ocean here in Oklahoma.

eMail Blasts - These sound great and easy. For $39.99 you can send e-mails to 2.5 million people. I choose not to go into details here, but trust me when I say these are a complete waste of time and money. Instead, create your own list.

Get Your Site on Page One of Google - Guaranteed, for only $89.99! Sounds great right? Yes, it does, until your discover that you do not choose your keywords, as they use their choice of keywords related to your niche. They optimize your page for a very long-tail keyword.

?For example, if your site sells leather dog collars, they will optimize your page for something like "buy cheap leather dog collars". Yes, you will get on the first page for that term, but the problem is: How many people do you think actually search for that term in Google? If you can find an approximate answer for that, you will understand why it's a scam. If you do not know how many people search for that term, you must learn how to perform keyword research, and learn more about ranking well with SEO in correct ways!

Instant Site Creation Packages -

If you do not know how to create your own website, don't think paying $49.99 will help you become successful with that. The bottom line is: if you do not even know how to create a simple site, then you most probably will not attain success in the field of Internet marketing. Stop trying to find shortcuts. If you want to succeed in the Internet, then you must know how to make a website. It is plain and simple. If somebody offers you an offer promising success even if you know absolutely nothing about creating sites, you might get results that were far different form what you paid for or expected.

Link Farming - This one might be one of the worst online scams! They offer to get you thousands of incoming links, but doing this will get you labeled as a spammer in Google's eyes. Avoid these offers totally. Otherwise, your site might get banned from Google.

Free Classified Sites - These are more of time wasters than actual scams. Many people have told me that they spent weeks submitting hundreds of free ads, yet they get no affiliate sales. Where do you go when looking to purchase something? Think about it. Have you ever even browsed those free classified sites for anything?

Free Hosting -Again, these aren't scams; they just aren't very good ideas. Many free hosting packages put their ads on your site. These free hosts often put server limitations on what may be done with respect to the code of your site. You can get real web hosting for as little as three or four dollars, monthly. If you aren't even willing to invest that much for your business, then you might want to ask yourself if you are really committed to it or not.
