This method is applied by yogis for thousands years. Deep breathing will quiet down your body and help you to empty your head. Start with inhaling slowly and deeply with your nose. Your chest will rise and your sides expand. Then gradually exhale. You will feel your chest going down and your stomach contracting. Do again as considered necessary. This breathing method will overflow your body with lots of oxygen, and it will moreover calm you down.

2 That Special Place
At the same time as you are breathing deeply, visualise yourself in your happy place, a particular place you can go to when you are stressed out or sad. Whether this place is an unspoiled sand beach or the kitchen of your grandmother, visualise it in your head. Evoke the sights and smell. But most importantly, let feelings of comfort, joy and security overflow you.

3 Stay away from Caffeine beverages and Sugar
Another anxiety relaxation technique is to avoid food and beverages that will increase your anxiety. Caffeine boosts your blood pressure to make you more alert. For that reason, it is best to stay away from coffee and other caffeine drinks. The last thing you can miss being more agitated. Staying away from sugar may moreover be prudent. Consume substantial stuff such as meat and vegetables. This will keep your energy level and frame of mind stable.

4 Rest and Leisure
In order to avoid anxiety, it is in addition vital that you get adequate sleep. Do not pull an all-nighter right prior to an essential exam or job-related event. You need a full night rest to be at your best the next day. Moreover, do some activities to keep your mind of the anxiety and to relax. Read a book, listen to light music, look at a film, have a massage, and take a bubble-bath. All these activities will help to minimize the anxiousness.

5 Positive Mind-set
In the end, a positive state of mind is easier said than done, but it can be done. Surround yourself with people that do not weigh you down and who believe in you. Tell yourself that you can tackle or do whatever it is that is triggering you worry. And have faith in that it all going to turn fine, no matter what happens. Having an optimistic mind-set is crucial to finding peace of mind.
