With so many options it can be difficult to choose the area of Spain which best serves your needs; here is a quick guide to some of the key holiday regions.

Canary Islands: The Canary Islands are a group of islands (Lanzarote, Tenerife, La Palma, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, La Gomera and El Hierro) lying off the coast of Spain. The popularity of holiday destinations like Tenerife or Lanzarote is explained by their beautiful beaches, fantastic vibrant atmosphere and crystal clear oceans; the less known islands offer the same delights and often with less other tourists.

Balearic Islands: For those looking for vibrant and exciting nightlife then Ibiza, which lies within this group of islands, is a must-visit destination. Ibiza''s legendary clubs are often played in by world-class DJs, meaning the island boasts some of the world''s best night-life.

Catalonia: If you''re interested in enjoying some of the best of Spain''s food then Catalonia might be the place for you. The region is famous among gourmets for the quality of its produce: the seafood is fresh, the wine is first-class and desserts like ?Catalonia Cream? are deliciously decadent.

Madrid is a modern and exciting city which can offer some of the best bits of Spain delicious food, amazing nightlife, fascinating culture all with a tropical climate and friendly locals.

La Rioga: This most immediately association with ''La Rioga'' is probably wine and, indeed, the region is famous for the quality and range of its grapes. It also provides a lot to see for those who are interested in culture: the Camino de Santiago (Way of Saint James) which runs through this region takes in stunning beautiful and historically important monasteries.

Transport: Getting to and from Spain is extremely easy; the country''s popularity means most major airlines will have several flights running here a day. The country itself is served by a good train network which will enable you to get about without too much trouble; for maximum convenience though it is worth looking into renting a hire-car.

Each region in Spain has something different to offer but the things they all have in common are their beauty, vibrancy and the way you''ll remember them forever. People return to Spain year after year and with this much on offer it''s easy to see why.
