Among all the other African nations, South Africa has put in maximum efforts in expanding its business process outsourcing services. In the recent past, other African nations are also striving hard to draw in business from foreign countries. The BPO sector has contributed a lot in changing the infrastructure of these nations. Most businesses from the Western countries prefer outsourcing their business projects to these nations. These countries have more to offer to the global BPO industry in the years to come. There is ample scope of expansion of the BPO companies in the African nations.

The countries of Africa possess a huge population that suffers from underemployment. This acts as a great resource for the growth of the continent’s BPO sector. Skilled labor is easily available at a relatively low operational cost. The common people here are in need of employment and they can go to any extent for finding a job. They can be made to work for long shifts even at comparatively low wages. Besides, these people possess excellent language skills, which are very essential for working as business process outsourcing agent. The geographical location of the continent is another favorable factor for the growth of the industry in this region.

Recent surveys indicate that the business process outsourcing market in Africa and Egypt are giving a tough competition to each other. The difference between the two markets is the result of the governmental assistance and the precision of the BPO proposition in the two countries. At the moment, Egypt has four thousand BPO jobs in hand, which is estimated to reach around twelve thousand by 2012. Scalability is the strength of Egypt that encourages the growth of its BPO industry. The country has a huge population of seventy-five people that serves as a talent pool for the industry.

Egypt is also potential in terms of its language resource for carrying out business process outsourcing services. The people of the country are skilled in speaking a wide array of languages which include French, Arabic and English. Thus, the call center agents there are able to serve clients from various corners of the world. They act as multilingual call centers and thus, form a wide base of potential clients from other countries. Another advantage of Egypt over South Africa is that its telecom rates are comparatively cheaper. Lower telecom prices help in reducing the operational costs of the BPO firms in Egypt and this allows them to bring more efficiency to their services.

Kenya is also not far behind from these nations as far as the market of business process outsourcing is concerned. By 2012, the country’s BPO sector aims at providing two thousand and six hundred job positions, as suggested by its present growth rate. The BPO sector finds stable environment in the country with more than thirty million people who are in need of employment. Availability of cheap skilled labor is also one of the factors that have facilitated the growth of BPO services in Kenya.
