Most of the people looking for alternatives to satellite are doing so based just on this problem, but that doesn't mean it's the only one.

As a subscriber to expensive satellite you would think that there would be an excellent customer service system in place. Most of the time this is not the case. Of all the times you have called customer support, how often was the person on the line an unhelpful grump? This is often the case, even if it is not always. For the price I used to pay for satellite, it is unacceptable for customer support to be that bad. When I call due to satellite reception issues, I do not want to have to wait till next Tuesday and have to hope the technician actually shows up between 10 am and 6 pm. Do these people really think I have nothing better to do than hang around the house all day? That is unacceptable. Even though the new package deal is a great discount, I do not want to be sold on it when I am trying to lower my costs by downgrading. These are the kinds of things that people are tired of. These issues are the same that get people to cut the cord with their satellite provider.

Reason 3
Only the best service quality would be acceptable for the high costs you are paying. You would never expect or accept bad signals, malfunctioning equipment should be almost unheard of, and freezes in the broadcast should never happen. It is unfortunate that all those issues are a reality. For the expense of satellite, service problems are exceedingly high. For most, this is the final straw. The inconsistencies would be bearable if the price was not so high. If customer support was not such a hassle, their might be a bit of damage control. Subscribers pay a premium for the service and when there is a problem it is difficult to get it taken care of.

Reason 4
The fourth reason is because an affordable alternative to satellite does exist and people want to find it. Online is where they will find it. The online program is often cheaper than a satellite bill for a single month. It is called tv on pc, and people are flocking to it. It includes thousands of channels and you can even watch live sports.
