3 Factors That Make You Hard To Motivate

There will constantly be periods in your life when you have to perform tasks that you believe unlikable for one reason or another - working with a co-worker you don't like, going to your job on Mondays, carrying the refuse out, going to endure the in-laws at the landing field, having supper with the spouse's associates... Doing these things just siphons whatsoever motivation you have within you and makes you feel sad, exhausted, sorry, even aggravated. However did you know that there are also things inside you that actually make it hard to feel energized and enthusiastic? Get to learn the factors that make you hard to motivate:

Your mindset
Your mindset is a major aspect that can make you tough to motivate. This is because it can severely limit your understanding of the world and all experiences in general. Your mindset can sometimes be composed of growth-inhibiting ideas, prejudices, biases and values.

If, for instance, you think that not anything good can come out of your workforce, you'll fail to see that there is a employee there that actually has management possibility. If you refuse to believe that you can truly create for a renowned journal because you're a person from a small town, you will miss out on an opportunity to expose your gift and garner its rewards.

Your comfort zone
We all have firm limits in our heads. These restrictions are things we decide on based on our own special beliefs, morals and principles. Within these limits, we feel at ease in and can pretty much do as we please.

Once we approach the outer edges, we start to feel distress, wariness, embarrassment or irritation. We do not wish to go further because we do not like what we don't know or haven't experienced. Since we have a fear of the unknown, we'd more readily stay within our comfort zones because we feel secure there.

The difficulty here is that a tight comfort zone can be a major factor that makes you difficult to motivate. Every time you are faced with a new suggestion or experience, you check to see if it fits into your comfort zone. If it doesn’t, then you just refuse, no questions asked. This is inopportune since many of these thoughts and experiences can be beneficial for you. But you'll perhaps never know because you don't have the impetus to try them.

Your past experiences
Did you get burned by the stove? That is most likely why you abhor to cook. Did your past bosses fail to show appreciation for your hard work? That is probably one reason why you do not feel motivated about your job.

Your background - personal, social and professional experiences - has a lot to do with how you choose things in your life. They can also be factors that make you hard to motivate. If these experiences are negative, they tend to make you more hesitant and doubtful of yourself because they affect your self-esteem and confidence.

If, for example, you have only been met with rebuff or ridicule in your life, it would not be hard to envision if you don't feel a strong need to excel or to improve yourself. You'll probably be thinking - 'So what? Nothing I ever did was good anyway. Why would things change now?'

Unless you consciously make an attempt to recognize these past experiences and then refuse to let them rule your life, you will always be hard to motivate.
