The expression "best ever" is just too quickly placed on nearly each and every aspect of sports wagering and it's lost most of its strength, but to state that the 2010 NHL playoff hockey wagering was the best ever would as real a statement as you might make.

2010's NHL playoff wagering was the best that sports wagering enthusiasts have ever seen, without danger of hyperbole.

The Washington Capitals were already presumed by most hockey sports books as the Stanley Cup wagering champions before the NHL playoff odds competition even began and anyone that made an early hockey bet on the eventual champ most likely put their money on Washington too.

And if not Washington then it'd be the Pittsburgh Penguins, the team that each and every hockey wagering buff knew would definitely play versus the Capitals in the Eastern Conference playoff wagering. The Ovechkin versus Crosby series was receiving more hype than the Stanley Cup wagering odds considering anyone was so sure that the Caps and the Pens were going to meet up in the playoff hockey wagering competition.

As it turned out, neither team made it quite far in the NHL playoff wagering. Washington, by far the best team in the normal season hockey wagering (121 points) was bounced in the first round by the #8 seed Montreal Canadiens. Even so they would hardly be the only upset. In fact, the Pens first round victory was the only NHL playoff wagering series on that side of the bracket that the higher seed wonvout of all the playoff series in the Eastern conference. And that means a lot enthusiasts that made hockey bets lost money, but man, what an interesting way to lose.

The reality that a #7 seed and a #8 seed competed for the Eastern Conference title speaks volumes about how big of a role that upsets competed in this year's NHL playoff wagering. And that's to state nothing of the awesome comeback that the Flyers staged versus the Bruins, winning 4 straight games after dropping into a 3- hole versus the Bruins.

Game 2 was the only matchup in the this hockey wagering series that had the look and feel of a traditional NHL wagering winners as it concluded in a hard-fought 2-1 victory of for the Chicago Blackhawks. But that's been the exception as opposed to the rule during the 2010 Stanley Cup wagering event. Game 3 was another high scoring matter with the Flyers receiving their first win in the NHL odds series 4-3. The squads combined for much more goals in Game 5, another Flyers victory, 5-3.

The 2010 Stanley Cup wagering competition has been offensive for a lot of hockey purists. In fact, hockey wagering has not traditionally been about high scores and double digit goal totals. And there's genuinely no way to overlook the awful play in goal of both team's goal tenders throughout this NHL wagering series.

But there is also no way to argue that the high scoring games have raised the profile of NHL wagering among sports enthusiasts and helped to attract casual sports wagering enthusiasts.

If you're a hockey wagering buff savor it, as we might have only seen the best NHL playoff wagering season ever and we may never see another NHL playoff run as thrilling and unpredictable as what we saw in 2010.
