With nearly 1 million people getting all or a portion of their annual cash flow from eBay it is now a fact that eBay has become a colossal marketplace capable of creating fortunes. If you offer your goods or services on eBay and are interested in boosting your sales than read on to uncover 10 tips the powersellers use to rack up massive sales numbers and to keep doing it day in and day out.

1. Sell niche products at a discount - With eBay within reach of anyone with a personal computer and drive, you'll discover that most of the larger markets have been cornered. So unless you have a better unique selling proposition or have a much better sales price, stick to selling those products that are harder to find. Industry or hobby focused products come to mind such as industrial machinery or childrens books. So focus your market and you'll see increased sales activity.

2. A good patron is worth his weight in gold – There isn't much that will hurt your purchases more than too much negative feedback. Not only does it wreck your chances with first time buyers but dissatisfied customers will refuse to buy from you again. Repeat buyers are the most valuable asset of successful sellers. Ask any powerseller and they'll inform you that the majority of their sales are made to customers who have purchased from them in the past. So Ship Fast, Notify After Shipping, Waterproof and Pad Shipped Items and don't forget to say thank you to your customers for their business.

3. Use pictures intelligently – The vast majority of buyers search for products with pictures, so if you are not using pictures to sell your products… start now. However a poor quality picture can be as bad as no image at all|poor quality photos can do more to damage your sales than not having an image at all. Spend a little money on a camera that's 7.0 Megapixel or better and isolate the item to be sold to begin with. Good lighting will help make your item stand out and take more than one shot of the product from varying angles. If you're selling products that have important specifications such as machinery ensure that you get a shot of the label showing all the specs. Do the same for like products, it gives the buyer proof that the product is exactly what they are looking for.

4. Make your auction headlines descriptive – Customers look for items by brand, model #, item specification, color, size etc... Make sure that you include these in your headline. Use the common sense approach, put yourself in your prospects position and try to search for the product you're selling and see what you can find.

5. Remove all the unessential trash from your description– Keep it as simple as possible. Unless you know how to achieve high returns by writing sales copy. Your description should elaborate on your headline. Reiterate the brand, specifications, model #, color, size and anything else that might be of use to your customer. Unlike direct sales a person searching on eBay doesn't need to be convinced that they want to buy your product, so your job is simply to get as many interested prospects to your posting as humanly possible and let the right buyer discover you. Everything else will take care of itself.

6. Scrounge for low price items to resell at a profit – Many sellers are distributors or wholesalers who have large contracts with manufacturers, but if you don't yet have this kind of leverage many products can be found on the worldwide web and flipped or sold for a profit on eBay if you know where to look. An easy search on Google can turn up many items below retail price. If you have an idea in mind for a item you want to sell you'll want to write this down. Open Google in a new window or tab and enter this in the search box without the quotes “closeouts product/item name”. You must replace the item name with the product or item your looking to buy. You may also use words like wholesale, discount and liquidation in place of closeouts. With this method you should be able to find lots of low cost merchandise to resell on eBay.

7. Use the eBay store front option - If you sell multiple products in the same market don't hesitate to create an eBay store front. You will reap many more sales for the same amount of work. Every auction you create will now include a link to your store front where you will showcase your other items for sale. Chances are good that if a person is buying a market specific item from you, they will also want other items from that same market or industry. Take some time to brainstorm all the products someone in your market demographic might need and add them to your inventory.

8. The Buy-It-Now option is your best friend... Take advantage of it - You will almost always do much better to use the buy-it-now option. It's due to the fact that most buyers would rather get the merchandise than to out bid the other prospects. Most of the time you will not see any worth while rise in profit by letting the customers out bid one another, as a matter of fact you'll probably make less for your product than if you did set a buy-it-now price.

9. Multiple ways to pay means more sales – Think about it. eBay users use many different ways to pay for products, the more you accept the more sales you will realize period. Just ensure that you are able to process every payment type you accept.

10. Research your market, than research it some more – Find your prospects hot buttons, better yet find their buy now buttons. By doing this you will save more time, cash and heartache than anything else listed above. Through research you'll uncover what your customer is searching for, what your product should be selling for, the best way to word your headlines as well as descriptions and even what other items you may want to carry. So set aside time to visit eBay and search for the products you sell watching out for what the other seller has done that might be making them sales.
