If you are moving from Dallas, then it is very important to know how to get proper moving quotes from the Dallas movers. When we are unsure of selecting the reliable moving company then it is evident that the quote is one of the most imporant factor that influences our decision making process. After all, we all want to save our out-of-pocket expenditure. Hence, we should know how to get the correct quote to have a scam-free move.

How to determine the relocation cost?
The moving quote is actually provided to a consumer so that he / she can anticipate his / her moving cost and get prepared accordingly. Your moving cost depends on the weight of your shipment, the distance required to travel to reach the new destination and the services you request. You can also ask your Dallas movers about how they decide a moving quote.

How to get accurate moving quote?
The accuracy of the moving quote largely depends on the data provided by you. So you need to be very specific in order to receive an approximately accurate quote. Before you start getting quotes. Check your belongings that you would move and consequently prepare an itemized list. Don't miss out the items in the basement, under the bed, attic, garage etc. Please remember that each and every item added to your list at a later point of time will surely increase your shipping cost. Additionally, make it sure that you receive a written estimate from at least 3 Dallas movers.

There are two types of moving quotes – Binding and Non-binding.

What is Binding Estimate?
It is an agreement of payment between the respective moving company and the consumer. According to the rules of this particular estimate the consumer will have to pay the previously discussed amount even if the final weight of the shipment is lower or higher than the initially quoted estimate.

This estimate is based on the services, distance and presumed shipment weight that you request for, at the time of getting quote. But in case you request for any additional services or add anything extra then obviously you will need to shell out extra money.

Note: The moving companies reserve the right of charging you extra money for those essential services which are required by them to carryout the task in a proper manner. You need to bear these service charges even if it is not requested by you.

What is Non-binding Estimate?
It is not a type of contract or a bid. It is not based on the price offered by the mover after inspecting the items required to move. Instead, it is the price that is provided by the mover after weighing the original shipment. Therefore, this particular price can be lower or higher than the initial estimate.

The non-binding estimate also has a limit. Though your price will be based on the actual weight of the shipment but still the mover cannot charge you anything more than 10% of the initial estimate in addition to the initial estimate offered. That means the maximum you will have to pay is 110%. But just like the binding estimate, you will be charged for the additional services that you have requested later. The additional detail about these estimates are available from the Dallas movers.

There is another type of estimate and it is known as “Not-To-Exceed” Estimate. This is termed differently by different Dallas movers. It is sometimes called “Price Protection” and “Guaranteed Price” also. Probably most of you must have heard these terms.
