You can get a good supply of good carbohydrates from potatoes, brown rice, oats, etc., which are slow to increase your blood sugar levels and hence are good for your health. You should never forget that you should not totally deprive your body of carbohydrates, and so you can choose such good carbohydrates that may help your system.

- It is a strict 'no' to fizzy bottled drinks, sugary fruit juices and soda. The sugar present in these drinks will increase your body weight and do not bestow any other nutritional benefit. So if you want to quench your thirst, you should drink water and not these drinks. By drinking plenty of water, you digest your food faster. Water makes you feel fullness of the stomach, and so you should drink water just before every meal. This will help you in avoiding over-eating. If you drink sips of water between morsels of your meal, you can feel fullness of the stomach more quickly.

Water flushes out toxins and waste-material from your body. Your fat cells are the place where toxins reside and when they are flushed out of the fat cells, losing weight becomes easy.

- You should reduce drinking coffee and tea frequently because though these may not contribute heavily to your weight increase, the cream and sugar in these beverages can cause a havoc. If you are very fond of these beverages, you can drink them without adding cream or sugar. Particularly green tea is very good for your health because it is a very good antioxidant and hence will help you fight the free radicals effectively.

- Your food must contain more of wholesome grains. Some people may be fond of processed foods. This is a dangerous trend and will lead to be ill-health. Processed foods contain chemical preservatives and your body mechanism cannot process them and flush them out. These chemicals strengthen your fat cells to such an extent that you will not succeed in melting them easily to lose weight quickly.

- Your diet should also contain about 30% of fats because fats are needed for an efficient functioning of your body and brain. But you can choose good fats that may benefit your body. Saturated and trans-fats are bad fats but fats that are present in olive oil, sesame oil and even coconut oil are good fats. By keeping such a watch on what you eat, you can lose weight quickly.
