3 Tips For Performing the Maple Syrup Detox

For the most part, the Maple Syrup Detox program is pretty simple. Drink the lemonade mixture for 10 days, don't eat and perform the salt water flush every day, and you'll be well on your way to weight loss and good health.
Of course, there's more to the program than just the simple mechanics - what you need are some tips to help get you through the cravings, the doubts and the confusion that can be a part of any new diet program. Here's what I've learned from my experiences with the Maple Syrup Detox:
1. Ease In and Ease Out of the Cleanse
A lot of people rush into the Maple Syrup Detox head over heels, thinking that the faster they start the cleansing program, the sooner they'll start to lose weight and feel better. Well, the truth is that a little planning goes a long way, which is why most body detoxification efforts recommend setting aside a few days on either end of the cleanse to ease the body into and out of the cleanse.
But what does that mean? The ease in period is meant to prevent the shock of going from your normal diet to a completely liquid one. It's usually 3-4 days during which you consume progressively simpler foods. For example, on the first day of the ease in period, you consume only raw foods, including fruits, vegetables and grains. On the second day, you might move to only fruits and veggies, and on the third day, you might limit your consumption to fresh fruit juices. The ease out period is simply the same process done in reverse to help your body re-acclimate to solid foods.
2. Take as Much Time Off as You Can
Yes, there are some logistical concerns that come with the Maple Syrup Detox - like where you'll mix your lemonade at work or whether you'll be near enough to a bathroom following the salt water flush. But while having time away from work or school can give you more opportunity to address these issues in private, that's not why I recommend you take as much time off as possible when starting the Master Cleanse.
The real reason I recommend a little alone time during the Maple Syrup Detox cleanse is so that you can indulge in a little pampering. Sleep in late, take a long bath or lie around reading a good book. If your finances allow, go get a massage or visit a sauna to aid in the detoxification process. Doing so will make the cleanse go by much faster and will help your outside appearance to match the positive changes taking place inside your body.
3. Prep Your Friends and Co-Workers
Of course, life isn't perfect, and few of us have the opportunity to drop everything for 10+ days just to do the Maple Syrup Detox diet. Chances are you'll have to face your friends, family members or co-workers at some point during the cleanse, so it's important to prep them on what you're doing. This way, they'll be more understanding if you experience any moodiness or irritability as a result of the cleanse, preventing any hard feelings later on.
